Sheep Are Here!
I am a new rancher who started out with 4 hens and now has 10 hens, 1 rooster, 2 barn cats, four sheep, and 2 guardian dogs. Pictured with me is Henrietta, my favorite hen from the original flock.
The 10 hens lay 6 to 8 farm-fresh, organic eggs per day.
The 4 ewes are pregnant and expecting babies in last Aug/early Sep.
The 2 barn cats keep the mice, snakes, and stray cats at bay.
The sheep, chickens, and barn cats are protected by 2 Anatolian Shepherd guardian dogs in training.
Projects completed in 2024 include: 4x4 goat wire fencing around front porch, sheep shed with two 4x4 goat wire pens, and a treatment chute, gutters and 500 gallon rain storage tanks for the house and sheep shed. Projects completed in 2022/2023 include dog-proof backyard chain link fence with 1 ft underground predator wire, and brand new 4x4 goat wire perimeter fencing w/barbed top & bottom wire.
